About The Position

The Patient Access Registration Representative is primarily responsible for providing a comprehensive, proactive, and “Patients First” experience to all patients and visitors at Inspira Health. This role involves demonstrating outstanding customer service skills to investigate, triage, and resolve patient issues, ensuring an outstanding patient visit experience. Additionally, the representative completes the registration of all patients, ensuring accurate patient information is obtained at all points of registration (Emergency Room, Outpatient, SDS, and Admitting) and that patients are informed of hospital policies and procedures. Key tasks include receiving and recording accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information, verifying insurances using the HDX system, determining patient financial responsibility via Recondo, and collecting patient responsibility amounts at the time of service through the PatientCo application. The representative also reviews and explains hospital consent forms and all required registration documents to patients, securing necessary signatures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Interest in learning new technology and troubleshooting to resolve minor technical issues.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Typing skills of 30-40 WPM.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse population while maintaining a professional attitude and providing great customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college and/or CHAA certified.
  • Hospital and Insurance registration experience.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Base knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive, proactive, and “Patients First” experience to all patients and visitors at Inspira Health.
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills to investigate, triage, and resolve patient issues.
  • Complete the registration of all patients, ensuring accurate patient information is obtained at all points of registration (Emergency Room, Outpatient, SDS, and Admitting).
  • Ensure patients are made aware of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Receive and record accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information for all registered patients.
  • Verify all insurances in the HDX system.
  • Determine the patient’s financial responsibility amount via Recondo, the hospital insurance estimation tool.
  • Request and collect the patient responsibility amount at time of service, if applicable, through the PatientCo application.
  • Review and explain hospital consent forms and all required registration documents to patients, according to department scripting.
  • Secure patient signatures on forms.
