About The Position

NOTICE OF VACANCY January 6, 2026 Location TBD Eff ective School Year 2025-2026 General Qualifications Registered Nurse licensure, Illinois Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation program completion Illinois Certification as a Vision and Hearing screening technician Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology Experience in nursing and completion of a school health orientation program preferred Essential Job Responsibilities Develops and maintains current health care plans for students who need special nursing interventions during the school day Provides direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students and staff including nursing assessment, identifying health problems, making referrals for diagnosis and treatment, providing follow-up and evaluation, and maintaining appropriate documentation Administers medication with appropriate documentation Participates in maintaining accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates including immunizations, physical examinations, medical conditions, and the related archival responsibilities. Provides relevant information to be recorded by the IEP team Performs mandated screening procedures for vision and hearing and provides results to the IEP team Provides staff in-service programs on health topics including blood borne pathogens and the district exposure control plan Provides health information and counseling for students, parents, and staff Supervises and/or provides screening and follow up for deficits in vision, hearing, growth and development, and other physical deficits Makes appropriate assessment and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter Maintains a user friendly and organized health services facility conducive to confidential communication and services Provides health services, information, and counseling in an effective and positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community Completes accident/incident reports for student Compiles data for statistical purposes Maintains confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issue Recommends modifications of the school program for students who require accommodations due to a health deficit Maintains standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for District 118 Terms of Employment 180-day position with wages, hours, terms, and conditions of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and the Danville Education Association Reports to Building Principal or designee To Apply External Applicants : To be considered, applicants must complete an online application packet including a letter of specific interest and a resume. Requirements
