The Registered Respiratory Therapist will treat a wide range of patients who have trouble breathing by providing general and emergency respiratory therapy. The RRT will report to the Cardiopulmonary Manager and be responsible for Student Respiratory Therapists working onsite. What you’ll do: Administer all modalities of the Cardiopulmonary Department as described in the policy and procedure manual. Consult with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and modify individual patient care plans. Evaluate patients by performing limited physical examinations and conducting diagnostic tests including those that measure lung capacity tests and acidity and alkalinity of the blood. Treat patients by using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, chest physiotherapy, and aerosol medications. Teach patients/residents how to use medications and equipment. Perform regular checks on patients and equipment. What you bring to the table: Valid Kansas Respiratory Therapist license, If not yet certified with the state of Kansas, must obtain certification within 3 months. Certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care Program Possess interpersonal skills to deal well with the public and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner.
