Children’s Minnesota is a large pediatric health system and the only one in Minnesota exclusively providing care to children. It is recognized as a Top Diversity Leader. The pediatric emergency department at Children’s Minnesota Minneapolis campus is a freestanding pediatric Level I trauma center, caring for over 48,000 patients annually and treating almost 40 percent of all pediatric trauma in the Twin Cities. The department is a 28-bed Level I trauma center serving Minneapolis and outlying facilities, offering critical care transport and telehealth. It also functions as a community-based hospital and safety-net for families without a primary care provider, with a family-centered focus that considers social, economic, and cultural diversity. Care is provided from birth through adulthood, considering age and developmental level, and incorporates the Comfort Promise to minimize procedural pain. The team values teamwork, open communication, safety, respect, and encourages learning and professional growth. The position involves coordinating and providing family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents using the nursing process, and being accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in collaboration with other health team members. This is an MNA contract position.
