We are looking for a skilled, detail oriented, Registered Nurse. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Children and Family Services Division and provide critical nursing support at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Hastings, NE.

Requirements

  • A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Registered nurse in Nebraska.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Physical health assessments
  • Documentation of care
  • Assisting in off campus medical appointments
  • Assisting the APRN in medical and medication management care for our youth
  • Maintaining clinical records
  • Transcribing orders for medications/treatments and collaboration with pharmacies to access medications
  • Providing immunizations to the youth
  • Maintaining required documentation for the Vaccines for Children Program
  • Documentation of vaccines in NESIIS
  • Providing immunizations for staff as needed
  • Providing the direction and monitoring of staff certified as Medication Aides
  • Providing the initial/renewal/as needed Medication Aide training
  • Auditing for medication administration
  • Documenting medication administration errors
  • Developing corrective action plans to address any errors
  • Collaboration of dental, vision, mental health ,and any other specialty services the youth may require
  • Providing education for youth, family, and staff through the needs identified. The education is provided on an individual basis, in-services, or in group settings to meet the needs.
