About The Position

Premier Ambulance is expanding its Critical Care Transport (CCT) Program and is seeking experienced CCT RNs. The program operates in both Los Angeles & Orange Counties. CCT Transport Nurses utilize their training and experience to provide Basic and Advanced Life Support during high-risk ambulance transport. Working alongside specially trained EMTs, the CCT Transport Nurse provides direct patient care to critically ill patients who may require cardiac and respiratory monitoring, IV-infused medications, and ventilators. Transports are generally for patients being moved between hospitals and/or facilities. Premier Ambulance is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), signifying adherence to high industry standards.

Requirements

  • Meet the minimum requirements of LA County EMS Reference No. 414: Specialty Care Transport Provider.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a critical care area relevant to the type of SCT transports the RN will provide (pediatric vs. adult), within the previous 24 months prior to employment as a transport nurse.
  • California State Registered Nurse (unrestricted licensure).
  • AHA BLS certification.
  • AHA ACLS certification.
  • AHA PALS certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (Within 90 days of hire).
  • Two years of experience in a critical care environment (ER, ICU) in a large tertiary care facility that provides high acuity patients with a wide range of diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization by being courteous, professional, and a patient advocate in all settings.
  • Ensure continuity of services while adhering to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they pertain to the CCT Program.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity with treatment protocols, response requirements, and quality assurance procedures within each assigned system.
  • Demonstrate ability to resolve unusual problems and provide direction.
  • Report any problems and unusual occurrences immediately to the CCT Manager.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the CCT Manager on pertinent issues.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas.
