We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work in our Community Health Center in Southeastern Utah. Our clinic is a dynamic place to work, practice, and grow. Critical Tasks: The ambulatory nurse is responsible for co-managing the Pyschiatric Nurse Practitioner's patient schedule, assisting with procedures, administering medication/faccines, skilled nursing procedures, patient follow up and refferral management. This position is to clinical operations and patient satisfaction. Reduce the risk of infections Perform nursing assessment and identify pertinent information to verbalize to the provider. Review and implement assigned provider orders, Educate patients regarding their healthcare and the healthcare system for patient/family to effectively care for a patient Safely administer medications Perform nursing evaluation and follow-up with patient for continued comprehensive care Report care results to the delegator promptly upon reception of a delegated task Participate in ongoing education and training Assign and delegate tasks appropriately when necessary and accept assignments and delegated tasks when necessary according to the Utah Nurse Practice Act Key Performance Indicators: Perform proper hand hygiene Use personal protective equipment according to CDC recommendations Perform low-level disinfection of medical equipment, devices, and supplies Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures. Maintains supplies, including stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies. Responds to patient telephone inquiries by evaluating and responding to the patient's problems and questions. Follows up with patients who miss appointments. Interview the patient to determine medical problems/conditions and documents in the chart for the physician. Observe the patient, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify the supervisor or provider of the patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Obtains and records patient's vital signs and weight to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of the patient. Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples. Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients. Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the provider including patient and family instruction. Review provider’s orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatment and examination of patient. Assists in the procedure by handing items to the provider. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the medical personnel in charge. Follows up with patients on lab results, including the scheduling of any additional tests. Works with referral coordinator and PRC to coordinate referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices. Documents services performed for billing purposes. Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols. By UNHS request, the employee may be asked to work a shift at another site. Expenses paid according to policy. Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities. Follow all personnel policies and procedures of UNHS and support the administration team in providing quality healthcare in a financially viable process. Ensure that a delegated task you receive is not complex, you understand the task, and you are adequately trained for the task before accepting the task Ensure that you have effectively completed a delegated task at least once before with confidence and that you can perform the activity correctly Ensure that you can perform a delegated task safely and patient is safe for you to carry out your task Ensure appropriate supervision by the delegator is available during the implementation of a delegated task Seek clarification and request additional training and guidance as needed for delegated tasks you receive
