Delegates activities appropriate to the abilities of available staff members 34. Assists with supply, drug, and equipment inventories to maintain stock level and availability 35. Addresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting 36. Transports patients to the endoscopy room observing policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and according to patient needs 37. Identifies the patient and correct procedure according to policy and procedure and communicates with all members of the surgical team 38. Reviews patient’s medical record and needs to plan care with other healthcare team members 39. Provides comfort and reassurance to patient 40. Maintains patient’s privacy and dignity 41. Explains procedures and care to the patient 42. Prepares room according to requirements of patient and procedure to be performed 43. Assembles and provides properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments before start of procedure 44. Assists with the proper and safe positioning of the patient 45. Administers medication per order of physician and based on condition of patient 46. Monitors patient condition and maintains accurate documentation preprocedure, during procedure, and postprocedure 47. Provides continuity of patient care by communicating with other perioperative care personnel and documenting records accordingly 48. Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician Physical Duties Ability to sit/stand for a considerable amount of time; ability to walk and some moderate lifting 1.
