About The Position

CTF Illinois is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Trainer to support adults with developmental disabilities in our CILA and Intermittent Programs throughout the South Suburbs of Chicago. In this vital role, you will provide nursing assessments, oversee medication administration, and train staff in accordance with Illinois DHS Rule 116 and best nursing practices. Position Overview Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime office hours On-call by phone only on weekday evenings One weekend on-call per month Complete required training to become an Illinois DHS Authorized Nurse Trainer Provide nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care Oversee all aspects of medication administration, including: Training employees in medication administration Supervising medication administration Completing CBTAs and required documentation Reviewing physician orders and MARs Conduct Annual Health Assessments Complete SAMA, Physical Status Reviews, Health Risk Screenings, and maintain updated medical histories Order and discontinue medications as appropriate Receive, review, and distribute monthly medications, physician orders, and MARs Monitor and maintain nursing supplies and medical equipment Travel locally throughout the South Suburbs of Chicago

Requirements

  • Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 1 year of related nursing experience
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of and ability to meet all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other PC applications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Complete required training to become an Illinois DHS Authorized Nurse Trainer
  • Provide nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care
