About The Position

This position is for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse Supervisor in the CMC Main Adult Emergency Department (ED) at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center (CMC). The ED is a fast-paced, high-acuity 43-bed unit, located within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital. It operates as a Comprehensive Stroke and STEMI Center, caring for over 70,000 patients annually, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability. The department is a proud recipient of the ENA Lantern Award, recognizing its commitment to innovation, leadership, and excellence in emergency nursing. As an RN Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role involves using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and effective communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • BSN required (RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program).
  • Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
