About The Position

The CMC Main Adult ED is a fast-paced, high-acuity 43-bed Adult Emergency Department, located within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital. As a Comprehensive Stroke and STEMI Center, it cares for over 70,000 patients annually, emphasizing teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability. The department is a proud recipient of the ENA Lantern Award for innovation, leadership, and excellence in emergency nursing. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This involves using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and effective communication to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience. Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, recognized for excellent patient care and medical expertise, serving as the region’s only Level 1 Trauma center, Magnet-designated, and an approved transplant center. It is also an Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospital, providing residency training and serving as a satellite for UNC-Chapel Hill’s medical school. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • 6 months of RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum
