SandyPines Residential Treatment Center is a 149-bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is in beautiful South Florida, nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson State Park and just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Much more online at: sandypineshospital.com Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide primary care coordination for patients and implement a collaborative care plan as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Duties include: Assess mental health needs; develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide consistent therapeutic milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice nursing in FL (or eligible to receive or renew).
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing and or bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, BLS.
  • CPR certification
  • Understanding of The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA and state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Focus on providing high quality patient care.
  • Move efficiently enough to meet the needs of several patients and/or move rapidly to provide timely intervention of patient aggression.
  • Able to stand, sit and walk during work shift.
  • Able to hear spoken words in a normal vocal range, respond to signals, alarms, codes or other displays.
  • Recognize vocal intonation that signal changes in acuity.
  • Able to bend, reach and stoop.
  • Must write legibly so as to accurately convey information.
  • Able to read instructions and complete documentation and reports.
  • Restrain, as part of a team, an aggressive patient in a safe and therapeutic manner.
  • Able to lift, position or move patients in order to perform (or assist in) searches and procedures, and/or administer injections.
  • Perform activities requiring manual dexterity.
  • Able to lift 30 lbs.
