About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Women's Healthcare of Norman is responsible for assessing patient conditions and gathering pertinent information. A key aspect of this role involves training new staff and coaching existing staff on patient visit processes and proper assistance for providers. The RN monitors staff skills in patient care and communication, ensuring diligent and thorough completion of all patient-related tasks such as encounters, labs, and documents. Additionally, the RN maintains a safe and clean environment in exam rooms and workstations, assists with laboratory procedures, and monitors staff for accuracy and safety in these procedures. The position requires the use of team-building, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to foster a positive and productive work environment for all clinic staff.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN)
  • Current RN nursing license from the State of Oklahoma
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Experience in the clinic setting
  • Emergency room and hospital experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient condition and obtains pertinent information.
  • Trains new staff and coaches existing staff on the patient visit process.
  • Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs.
  • Trains new staff and coaches existing staff on the proper process for assisting each provider.
  • Monitors the skills of each staff member regarding assisting the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed.
  • Ensures that each staff member is diligent and thorough in the continuous care of the patient through accurate and timely completion of all encounters, labs, documents, etc. assigned to them.
  • Maintains the exam rooms and work environment, routinely monitoring the clinic's exam rooms and work stations to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Assists with laboratory procedures.
  • Monitors the staff on laboratory procedures to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Utilizes team-building, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to maintain a positive and productive working environment for all of clinic staff.
