More about our team Working on a Mother/Baby/Pediatric unit offers the opportunity to be part of some of life’s most meaningful moments. Nurses play a vital role in supporting new mothers through recovery, building confidence, and fostering bonding with their newborns, while also caring for pediatric patients. Collaboration is central to success on the Mother/Baby/Pediatric unit, with close teamwork among nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team. How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Keeps informed on unit changes via participation in a minimum of 6 staff meetings per year as well as attends other communication sessions as required. Also reads email and communication boards. Interviews patients and their families to obtain the required nursing history and performs physical assessment. Assesses needs of patients and establishes priorities for patient care based on medical diagnoses. Develops and evaluates individualized plan of care for each patient. Reassess and evaluates changes in patient's condition. Maintains competency in pain assessment and management of pain. Assesses learning needs of patient/family and provides education specific to needs, evaluates the outcome. Involves patients, families, and other disciplines in the plan of care to establish mutually agreed upon goals to achieve desired outcomes. Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and employee-related information. Participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning. Keeps informed on unit changes via participation in a minimum of 6 staff meetings per year as well as attends other communication sessions as required. Also reads email and communication boards. Participates in unit and hospital-based Performance Improvement activities, including patient and staff satisfaction activities. Utilize scripting to improve patient satisfaction. Completes hourly rounds, bedside shift report, briefs, debriefs, and huddles. Assumes responsibility and accountability for clinical practice. Commits to Code of Conduct and Commitments to Excellence. Maintains proficiency in all hospital information systems, required to provide care within departments. Adheres to staffing plan, exhibiting flexibility when necessary; flexes self and peers as needed. Assigns staff who are qualified and competent to provide patient care. Works varied shifts and on call, including weekend shifts and holidays. Assists with the orientation of new personnel. What we’re looking for Applicants should be a graduate of accredited school of nursing and state Registered Nurse Licensure . Additional requirements include: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Requirements

  • Applicants should be a graduate of accredited school of nursing and state Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
