The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse responsible for prescribing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with other health team members, adhering to the nursing process and established standards of care and practices.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing
CPR certification
Training in appropriate use of Handle with Care (HWC) and Verbal De-escalation before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting in a restraining process
Pass a medication administration exam
Complete a basic developmental competency exam

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree
A minimum of two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility
