About The Position

A large, accredited ospital in Florida is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Open Heart / CVOR to join its Cardiovascular Operating Room team. This role supports complex open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

Shift Details
Shift: Days
Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
On-Call Requirements: One on-call shift per week One on-call weekend per month Additional call may be required based on departmental needs

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Open Heart (CVOR) RN experience in an acute care setting – required
• Active Florida RN license or compact RN license (must obtain Florida license within 60 days if relocating)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA Healthcare Provider) – required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• CNOR certification – preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care for open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field in the CVOR
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout procedures
• Monitor patient status and respond rapidly to changes in condition
• Ensure compliance with surgical safety protocols and infection control standards
• Accurately document perioperative care in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesia, and OR team members
• Participate in on-call coverage as required
