About The Position

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist (CVOR) to provide direct support to surgeons and nursing staff during a variety of cardiovascular and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate ensures sterile technique, patient safety, and efficient workflow in the operating room.

Requirements

CVOR experience required
Graduate of an accredited civilian or military Surgical Technology / Operating Room Technician program
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through an NCCA-accredited certifying body
Current BLS certification (AHA)

Responsibilities

Assist surgeons and nursing staff during CVOR and general surgical procedures
Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, drapes, and solutions
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and AORN standards
Perform scrub technician duties across multiple surgical specialties
Pass instruments, hold retractors, cut sutures, and assist with sponge, needle, and instrument counts
Prepare, label, and handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
Assist with patient positioning, transport, and transfer to recovery areas
Operate sterilizers, lights, suction, and assist with diagnostic equipment as needed
Assist with OR turnover, restocking, and preparation for subsequent cases
Support orientation of new OR staff and participate in unit meetings and in-service education
Provide service excellence aligned with organizational CARES values
