About The Position
A healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The RN will deliver comprehensive nursing care, perform advanced clinical procedures, and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program (required)
- Active New York State RN License
- Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration from NYSED
- AHA BLS certification
- AHA ACLS (required for Queens-based assignments only)
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing evaluations
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
- Assist with and monitor patients undergoing conscious sedation
- Monitor vital signs, lab results, and patient responses to treatment
- Provide wound care and post-procedural care
- Document patient care accurately and in compliance with hospital standards
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
