About The Position

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients by assessing needs, assisting physicians, and delivering safe, evidence-based care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stabilization. This role supports patient-centered care in alignment with professional nursing standards and models of practice.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery or a related specialty
• Demonstrated ability to deliver safe, high-quality nursing care
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
• BLS (AHA required)

Nice To Haves

• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and document individualized nursing care based on patient needs
• Identify patient priorities through ongoing assessment, intervention, and evaluation
• Develop and coordinate plans of care using clinical judgment and physician diagnoses
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions appropriate to Labor & Delivery settings
• Manage assigned patient care and monitor maternal and fetal status
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with standards of care and patient acuity
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and support innovations in care delivery
• Provide patient-centered care consistent with professional nursing practice models
• Perform additional duties as assigned
