About The Position
We are seeking experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses (RNs) for 13-week contract assignments at a respected hospital. Openings are available for day shift and night shift . These roles are ideal for L&D nurses with strong clinical expertise who are looking for a contract or travel opportunity.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
- Must have experience handling high-acuity obstetric patients.
- BLS certification (AHA required).
- ACLS and NRP certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and patient advocacy skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in urgent/emergency situations.
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week (day shift and night shift available)
- Status: Contract position – not a permanent full-time role
- Travel nurses welcome – travel packages available
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
- Manage and support high-acuity obstetric patients, including those with complications.
- Assist with labor, delivery, cesarean sections, and recovery care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpreting electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) strips.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other care team members.
- Administer medications and interventions per provider orders and hospital protocols.
- Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and documentation standards.
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth process.
