About The Position

The Intermediate Care Registered Nurse (IMCU/PCU RN) provides specialized nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced clinical support. The role involves managing complex patient conditions, utilizing specialized equipment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience
• Prior travel experience required
• Active New York RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA)
• Experience with EPIC EMR

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to IMCU/PCU patients
• Monitor and assess patients with cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and post-operative conditions
• Manage patients requiring step-down level care from ICU
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment
• Document patient care accurately in EMR systems
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and care teams
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed
• Float to other units as required based on competency
