REGISTERED NURSE (RN) EMPLOYEE HEALTH SERVICES Summary Implements the components of an Occupational Health Program that fosters the health, safety, productivity, and wellness of all employees and applicants as prescribed by applicable statutes, regulations, and Lehigh Valley Health Network policies.

Requirements

  • Specialized Diploma from an accredited school of nursing
  • 5 years of experience with clinical nursing.
  • Knowledge of the health care environment.
  • Knowledge of infection control as it relates to health care settings, applicable OSHA standards, FMLA and ADA legislation, and the related disciplines of toxicology, ergonomics, and biostatistics.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft office.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing
  • 2 years of experience with employee health or occupational health.
  • Managerial or leadership skills.
  • COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse ABOHNI - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Counsels employees regarding treatment options and obtains informed consent for all prophylaxis administered.
  • Documents efficacy of treatments and offers suggestions when treatment not effective.
  • Documents injury and injury-related data in occupational health system initially and as the case develops.
  • Documents and follows chain of custody protocol and Employee Health Services drug screening procedures during urine drug screens.
  • Participates in annual influenza vaccine program including off-site clinics, off-shift clinics, and education to all staff.
  • Performs initial assessment of work-related injuries and makes appropriate appointments/referrals for medical treatment.
  • Provides injured workers with basic information regarding workers' compensation benefits.
  • Assesses basic fitness for duty and return to work criteria.
  • Documents lost and restricted work days according to OSHA regulations.
  • Identifies susceptible health care workers and safely administers vaccines and imposes furlough/quarantine when necessary
