Join our team as a day shift, part-time, Surgery (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) Board Runner in Tulsa, OK. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • At least 1 year as a circulator in the OR
  • RN license issued by the OK BON
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
  • ACLS certification (ACLS preferred upon hire, if not must obtain within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring appropriate staffing of the operating rooms.
  • Checks with the OR leadership the day before surgery and the day of surgery for any changes in room assignments.
  • Reviews case load and gives second rooms, if needed, after conferring with Anesthesia.
  • Ensures that all add-on cases written on the board, communicated with the OR staff and the necessary departments.
  • Coordinates breaks and lunches to ensure compliance with the time limit and to ensure rooms are relieved on time if possible.
  • Makes rounds of the operating rooms to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist OR leadership in enforcing proper surgical attire.
  • Checks emergency equipment daily during normal hours of operation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
