About The Position

Join our team as a day shift, full-time, Surgery (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) Board Runner in Tulsa, OK. Hillcrest Hospital South is a full-service 180-bed facility in south Tulsa, offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services with cutting-edge technology. It is the only DNV Orthopedic Center of Excellence (OCE) in Oklahoma and has an RN residency program accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program and Pathway to Excellence. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • At least 1 year as a circulator in the OR
  • RN license issued by the OK BON
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification (ACLS preferred upon hire, if not must obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Scrub tech experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring appropriate staffing of the operating rooms.
  • Checking with the OR leadership the day before surgery and the day of surgery for any changes in room assignments.
  • Reviewing case load and giving second rooms, if needed, after conferring with Anesthesia.
  • Ensuring that all add-on cases written on the board, communicated with the OR staff and the necessary departments.
  • Coordinating breaks and lunches to ensure compliance with the time limit and to ensure rooms are relieved on time if possible.
  • Making rounds of the operating rooms to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Assisting OR leadership in enforcing proper surgical attire.
  • Checking emergency equipment daily during normal hours of operation.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
