About The Position
The Pre-Anesthesia Clinic RN is part of the outstanding Surgical Services dept. at Harborview Medical Center. Pediatric and adult populations undergo surgery with various services including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Ear/Nose/Throat, Urology, Oral Maxillofacial, Burns, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, and Pain Service-related procedures. Nearly 18,000 surgeries are performed annually, and operate around the clock. The Pre-Anesthesia specialty clinic or "PAC" serves as the anesthesia home for care coordination of patients having elective surgery or procedures where Anesthesia will be providing care. Health assessment and risk stratification are used to coordinate care for optimization of medical conditions as they relate to Anesthesia. This is a regular position with 87.5% FTE (35 hours per week) on a Day Shift.
Requirements
- Requires minimum two years critical care RN work experience (ED or ICU).
Responsibilities
- Provide education and guidance around perioperative medication management, NPO guidelines and what to expect on the morning of surgery.
