About The Position

The Pre-Anesthesia Clinic RN is part of the outstanding Surgical Services department at Harborview Medical Center. The Pre-Anesthesia specialty clinic, or "PAC," serves as the anesthesia home for care coordination of patients having elective surgery or procedures where Anesthesia will be providing care. Health assessment and risk stratification are used to coordinate care for optimization of medical conditions as they relate to Anesthesia. Pediatric and adult populations undergo surgery with services including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Ear/Nose/Throat, Urology, Oral Maxillofacial, Burns, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, and Pain Service-related procedures. Nearly 18,000 surgeries are performed annually, and the department operates around the clock. Harborview Medical Center is the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine. It is dedicated to providing specialized care for a broad spectrum of patients from throughout the Pacific Northwest, including the most vulnerable residents of King County.
