About The Position

The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator works with trauma program leadership to coordinate all aspects of the department's Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program. The PI Coordinator will review the continuum of care to determine compliance with practice management guidelines, policies and procedures, and established standards of care..

Requirements

  • Education: ASN from an accredited school of nursing preferred
  • Licensure: Valid RN license, State of Florida, BLS required upon hire, TNCC/ENPC, ACLS, PALS required within 6 months of hire. ATCN, TCRN and CEN preferred.
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required . Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
  • BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
  • Experience: 5 years of clinical/nursing experience in a Trauma designated facility and clinical expertise in the area of Critical Care medicine. Good communication , interpersonal and analytical skills, knowledge of trauma systems, experience in performance improvement, and self-directed with flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.
  • Maintain the Trauma PI database to ensure adequate documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Complete concurrent review of cases to identify quality, timelines and systems of care to meet state standards.
  • Participate in hospital education programs for nurses and resident physicians caring for trauma patients.
  • Serve as a liaison to the clinical areas responsible for trauma patients.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary monthly Trauma Systems & Operations Committee and Peer Review meetings.
