About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN will be responsible for providing immediate post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring patient safety, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain and recovery progression.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience (PACU or critical care preferred)
- Active RN License (state-specific requirement)
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification (commonly required for PACU roles)
- Strong post-anesthesia or critical care experience
Nice To Haves
- PALS Certification (if facility treats pediatric patients)
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR systems like Epic)
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and assess their condition
- Manage airway, breathing, and circulation post-procedure
- Administer medications and manage pain effectively
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
