Our Registered Nurses in Labor & Delivery independently perform clinical care to patients. Working with a dedicated team, the Registered Nurse provides evidence-based, high quality care in labor & delivery, OB operating room, and triage area. Primary care of the antepartum and immediate post-partum High risk obstetrical patient, and serves as a resource for other team members. Our Labor and Delivery Unit, part of the Family Childbirth and Children's Center at Mercy performs between 250-300 births per month.

Requirements

  • Diploma/degree from an accredited nursing school (a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, or agreement to enroll within six months of employment)
  • Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland or the ability to obtain a Maryland license based on timeframe of licensing board
  • 1-2+ years of clinical nursing experience is strongly preferred; new graduates with focused practicum or technician experience in L&D will be considered.
  • Healthcare Provider-Level CPR certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP)
  • EfM (external fetal monitoring)certification within 18 months of hire
