About The Position

Astera Health currently has a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) opening in Labor & Delivery at the Wadena campus. This position is part-time, scheduled 60 hours bi-weekly, 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend and holiday rotation. Requirements

Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) in Minnesota
Maintain active BLS Certification

Responsibilities

Coordinates the nursing plan of care with the medical orders to provide safe obstetrical care.
Assists the provider with examinations and procedures for safe maternal/infant care.
Actively provides nursing care to laboring mothers and monitors laboring process.
Performs delivery preparations indicated, i.e., IV’s and pain management options.
Uses and documents the nursing process to provide individualized patient-focused care from admission to discharge
Sets up room for delivery and assists the provider in delivery care for the newborn.
Scrubs in and assists in care of infant in C-section deliveries.
Conducts and documents patient teaching and discharge instructions with patient, partner and significant others and appropriate health care providers to ensure safe continuity of care.
Relays and interprets patient data and information to ancillary departments and health agencies, i.e., test requests, transfer sheets, discharge forms, diagnostic study results, to accommodate continuity of care.
Will be required to float to the Inpatient unit based on organizational needs.
