The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. This role involves scheduling outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic services and patient admissions, ensuring quick, easy, and appropriate access to all patient services at Sanford USD Medical Center. The RN communicates patient information regarding testing and procedures to clinic staff, ensures documentation of medical necessity according to regulatory guidelines, and acts as a resource for clinic staff. The position requires working with departments to resolve complex scheduling issues, adapting services to patient needs, and providing patient teaching. Candidates must possess a breadth of clinical expertise, a broad background of clinical experience, and an understanding of the growth and developmental needs of all age groups.
