About The Position

This program is designed to support novice Registered Nurses (RNs) in their transition into the role of a maternity nurse, specifically focusing on Labor and Delivery or Mother Baby nursing. It integrates AHWONN’s Perinatal Education and Orientation Program (PEOP), offering a blend of online coursework, instructor-led classes, skills labs, and two distinct clinical tracks for Labor and Delivery and Mother and Baby. Upon successful completion of the PEOP, participants will earn 50.25 continuing education credits and gain 6 months of clinical bedside experience through rotations in relevant roles. The Perinatal Nurse Residency Program is available across the Atlantic Health System. Requirements

  • Non-BSN graduates will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of employment
  • All participants are asked to agree to a 2-year employment commitment at AHS
