About The Position

This program aims to support novice Registered Nurses (RNs) in transitioning into the role of a maternity nurse. It integrates with AHWONN’s Perinatal Education and Orientation Program (PEOP) and includes online coursework, instructor-led classes, skills labs, and two clinical tracks: one for Labor and Delivery and one for Mother and Baby. Upon completion, participants will receive 50.25 continuing education credits and six months of clinical bedside experience with rotations. The Perinatal Nurse Residency Program is available across Atlantic Health System, and job descriptions may vary by site. Non-BSN graduates are required to complete their BSN within five years of employment, and all participants must agree to a two-year employment commitment at Atlantic Health System (AHS). Requirements

  • Must be a novice RN (as the program supports transition for novice RNs)
  • Non-BSN graduates will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of employment
  • All participants are asked to agree to a 2-year employment commitment at AHS
