Children’s Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States, providing care exclusively to children from before birth through young adulthood. It is an independent, not-for-profit system since 1924, serving kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics, and seven rehabilitation sites. Children’s Minnesota is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital and by Modern Healthcare as one of 2023’s Top Diversity Leaders for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. The pediatric emergency department at Children’s Minnesota Minneapolis campus is the only freestanding pediatric Level I trauma center in the area. Its interdisciplinary team cares for a wide range of pediatric trauma and injuries, treating over 48,000 patients annually and almost 40 percent of all pediatric trauma in the Twin Cities. The 28-bed Level I trauma center provides services including critical care transport and telehealth, and also serves as a safety-net for families without a primary care provider. The department maintains a family-centered focus, considering social, economic, and cultural diversity, and provides care from birth through adulthood, incorporating the Comfort Promise to minimize procedural pain. The team values teamwork, open communication, safety, respect, and encourages learning and professional growth. This position coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. The role is accountable for professional practice, including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. This is an MNA contract position.
