About The Position

The Center of Excellence Coordinator RN collaborates with the Center of Excellence team,supporting the development, implementation, and organization of the Total Joint Program, and requires collaboration between interdisciplinary team members. The Total Joint Coordinator plays a vital role in patient experience and throughput, performing follow-up communication and documentation for all total joint patients. Serves as the clinical resource for joint replacement care, best practices by educating nurses, patients and physicians, monitoring patient care in real time, and advocating for necessary elements of care. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and other regulatory requirements. Support data collection and reporting for orthopedic registries or accreditation programs (e.g., The Joint Commission's Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement). This role assists the Center of Excellence Manager with report generation and review, process improvement, staff education, and patient satisfaction

Requirements

  • At minimum three (3) years' of recent experience in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills.
  • Good organizational habits with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Leadership and excellent communication skills with patients, staff and physicians required.
  • Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and Word Applications required.
  • Excellent teaching skills and basic knowledge of quality improvement ideology.
  • Current and unrestricted Texas RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Orthopedic experience preferred but not required.
  • Orthopedic Nursing Certification (ONC) preferred but not required.
