About The Position

IU Health is seeking expert Registered Nurses to join their Cardiology Ambulatory Triage RN team. The position is for individuals with a minimum of one year of RN experience; new nurse graduates are directed to a separate pipeline requisition to be matched with suitable opportunities. In this high-volume department, the RN will serve as a vital clinical resource, supporting 24 cardiology providers. The role involves answering live incoming calls, triaging patients according to IU Health and departmental protocols, communicating abnormal test results under physician direction, conducting in-office nurse triage visits, and acting as a strong patient advocate between providers and patients. This full-time, day shift position (8-5pm Monday-Friday) is ideal for RNs who thrive in fast-paced environments, value autonomy, and aim to make a meaningful impact through expert clinical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of RN experience
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN)
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may be considered for candidates with more than two years of relevant clinical experience, subject to CNO review and approval)
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
  • May require ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred
