Registered Nurse - Cardiology - Ambulatory Triage

We are seeking an individual with a minimum of one year of RN experience for this role. Upcoming or recent nurse graduates are directed to apply through a separate pipeline requisition. The Cardiology Ambulatory Triage RN team serves as a vital clinical resource for a high-volume department supporting 24 cardiology providers. This PRN, day shift position operates during clinic hours of 8-5pm, Monday-Friday. Requirements
- Minimum of one year of RN experience
- Associates of Nursing (ASN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may be considered for candidates with more than two years of relevant clinical experience, subject to CNO review and approval)
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
- May require ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction
- Awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse

Responsibilities
- Serve as a vital clinical resource for a high-volume department supporting 24 cardiology providers
- Answer live incoming calls using nursing judgment to triage appropriately per IU Health and departmental protocols
- Communicate abnormal test results with physician direction
- Conduct in-office nurse triage visits
- Act as a strong patient advocate between providers and patients
