We are seeking an individual with a minimum of one year of RN experience for this role. Upcoming or recent nurse graduates are directed to apply through a separate pipeline requisition. The Cardiology Ambulatory Triage RN team serves as a vital clinical resource for a high-volume department supporting 24 cardiology providers. This PRN, day shift position operates during clinic hours of 8-5pm, Monday-Friday. Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of RN experience
  • Associates of Nursing (ASN)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may be considered for candidates with more than two years of relevant clinical experience, subject to CNO review and approval)
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
  • May require ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction
  • Awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a vital clinical resource for a high-volume department supporting 24 cardiology providers
  • Answer live incoming calls using nursing judgment to triage appropriately per IU Health and departmental protocols
  • Communicate abnormal test results with physician direction
  • Conduct in-office nurse triage visits
  • Act as a strong patient advocate between providers and patients
