About The Position

Under limited supervision of a Nursing Director/Associate or Nurse Supervisor, this role provides nursing care to incarcerated individuals with behavioral health conditions, including but not limited to mental health disorders and substance abuse issues. The position involves performing assessments, developing care plans, administering medications, and offering crisis intervention while maintaining safety and security within the facility.

Requirements

A current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska
Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience as a registered nurse
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance
Must submit to background security check
Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical examination and a drug test
Must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services' Pre-service Training Program once at the Staff Training Academy

Nice To Haves

Experience in assigning, reviewing, leading, or supervising the work of others

Experience in a correctional or secure healthcare environment
