The Registered Nurse on the Acute Rehabilitation Unit is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing, and coordinating the care of patients through the use of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This includes recognition and treatment of physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit. The 17-bed unit utilizes nursing and physical medicine therapies in a trans-disciplinary team approach to family-centered care. The unit also employs an interdisciplinary approach to Performance Improvement, Education, Policy/Procedure, and Delivery of Care. Resources and support are available for advanced training and certification in Rehabilitation Nursing. This is a PRN position, requiring a minimum of 24 hours off-shift per 6-week schedule, including 12-hour day/evening/night shifts, and weekend and holiday work as needed.
