About The Position

Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Vice President, Existing Client Development to join our team. The RVP will play a strategic role in expanding wallet share from existing clients by partnering directly with financial advisory teams. As a planning and investment expert, the RVP supports advisors in identifying opportunities to grow client assets under our management (AUM). This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in financial planning, investment strategy, and collaborative business development. We select our initial compensation target using national compensation survey data. When we make an offer, we then factor in things like tenure, performance, and geographic location to come up with the most accurate numbers. The expected pay range, in the first year, for this RVP position is $225,000 - $250,000 annually. This range reflects a base salary and variable compensation; the company in good faith believes it would pay in this range for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation within this range will depend on your qualifications, skills, and credentials, educational and professional experience and actual compensation will depend on your productivity and sales numbers and can be below or exceed the range. Requirements

  • 7+ years of business development / sales experience in investment management and/or financial advisory industry with demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships
  • Strong financial advisory and wealth management acumen and experience
  • Strong technical expertise in financial planning and investment strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with financial advisors using consultative planning and investment expertise to identify client needs, propose tailored solutions, and drive expansion of managed assets.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and sales experience
  • Willingness to independently travel regularly in assigned market – up to 50%
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, listening and analytical skills
  • Proven time management and organizational skills in high volume, high energy environments
  • 4-year degree in business, finance, marketing or related
  • FINRA Series 65 required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with financial advisors to uncover and convert existing client opportunities for additional investment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in planning and investment strategy to support advisors in expanding their client wallet share.
  • Lead initial client conversations when appropriate, helping articulate WEG’s value proposition and deepen engagement.
  • Collaborate with advisors to identify Existing Client New Money (ECNM) opportunities within their existing book, provide strategic input on cases, and deliver presentations that focus on wallet share growth.
  • Drive revenue through expanding wallet share (ECNM)
  • Drive AUM growth by expanding existing client relationships, not by sourcing new clients.
  • Educate advisors and clients on planning and investment topics that support deeper engagement.
  • Use WEG’s planning framework to help advisors close mid- and high-net-worth ECNM opportunities.
  • Act as a resource for complex planning and investment cases, helping advisors deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Participate in joint meetings with clients to reinforce planning recommendations and investment strategies.
  • Ensure smooth handoff and ongoing service delivery in partnership with advisory teams post-engagement.
