Essential Functions RFYT/Demonstration Plots: Manage planting activities which include the preparation of seed and plot layouts. Managing seed supply for RFYT’s throughout the region. Pre-plant field preparation such as measuring, marking, and setting up trial locations. Operation and maintenance of tractors and seeding equipment. Maintenance and data collection of Tech Service Trials, including but not limited to field scouting and rouging. Coordinate with cooperator for proper irrigation and pesticide application timing. Harvesting activities which include the operation and maintenance of weigh wagons, combines, GPS units and hand harvesting equipment in addition to the sorting, cleaning’ and conditioning of seed samples post-harvest. Organize and deliver milling samples and record results of milling samples for the Tech Services department. Summarize results in a clear concise and report findings to Technical Service Manager, Regional and District Sales Managers. On-site work required. Other duties as assigned. Support Training & Development: Assist with the preparation and distribution of training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids. Assist in planning and execution of field plots for field days and other sales purposes. Assist in the planning and execution of RiceTec Grower Meetings throughout the Region. Provide other RBIA/Sales support: Assist in delivering In Season Seed to customers throughout the Region. Calibration of customer’s commercial grain drills for the planting of rice seed. Assist in placing RiceTec signs in commercial fields throughout region. Attend rice related meetings, seminars, and expos within region as well as other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or related field (Preferred) Experience in production agriculture. Demonstrated aptitude with farm equipment (Must) Knowledge of support software including Microsoft Suite. Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook (Must) Strong organization and communication skills. Ability to work within a team environment. Be a valuable team member while demonstrating care and respect for those in which you are in contact. Class A Commercial Driver License. Other Requirements Non-Criminal Record. Incumbent should not have history of any criminal record and be able to pass a background check. Position holder must be able to pass a drug test. Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation. Travel throughout the assigned region is required. Must obtain a Class A CDL in the first six months of employment and maintain the CDL for the duration of employment in position. Work Environment: Expected to perform the essential functions, responsibilities, and physical requirements of this role with or without reasonable accommodation within the described work environment. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking level and unleveled surfaces for periodic periods throughout the day including flooded rice fields. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to lift 50-pound bag of seed.
