The captain of that ship is our Regional Sales Specialist for DI's marine business segment. The Regional Sales Specialist is the focal point in establishing and maintaining working relationships and sharing technical knowledge with our customers. The primary responsibility of an OSR is to increase sales revenues and margins through effective territory management; however, it is the exemplary service to our customers that makes our Regional Sales Specialist champions within our industry. Expand the sales volume and profits within the territory by actively calling on new and existing customers. Use effective pre-call planning, market information, scheduling, and maximization of sales opportunities. Develop strategic sales plans and forecasts for the territory. Identify and pursue additional sales opportunities in current and new product lines. Effectively communicate and turnover order details to Customer Service Representatives. Prepare and present quotes, proposals, reports, correspondence, and product/industry presentations to customers at all levels within the customer’s company. Report on weekly sales activities, operations, and forecasting information. Ensure timely submission of expense reports. Utilize the company CRM to build a database for collection and reporting of all account calls, prospects, activities, objectives, and results. Participate in company improvement programs such as strategic planning or continuous improvement programs. Participate and network in various industry associations and functions. Attend training and trade shows as required. Plan sales activities/trips to maximize sales coverage and maintain travel expenses within budgets. Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned. Work with all operating divisions that support the sales organization to create and ensure a collaborative work environment Continually grow the sales pipeline across the marine segment nationally, developing new opportunities while also seeking new solutions to provide to existing customers Establish and maintain positive customer relationships Directly responsible for the management, planning, and administration of sales and distribution of marine solutions throughout the assigned regional network Analyze and report market trends Manage sales, profit, and operational expenses for designated sales territory Maintain clear and complete sales reports & dashboards for management review Effectively communicate & coordinate project activities with local market sales, customer service & operations teams. Identify and pursue additional sales opportunities in current and new product lines.
