About The Position

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and market share by leading sales initiatives, managing key customer relationships, and supporting individual branch sales teams. This role focuses on new business development, account retention, strategic pricing, and operational coordination across rental, full-service lease, and maintenance product lines to ensure profitable growth in all areas of VTRL.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience in the truck rental & leasing industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial truck leasing, contract maintenance, and fleet management solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop sales teams in a performance-driven environment.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation with a strategic, solutions-focused approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient in overcoming challenges.
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve rental, lease, and maintenance revenue targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in all assigned areas of responsibility
  • Grow long-term full-service lease, contract maintenance, and short-term rental relationships
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts while ensuring profitability and risk management
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to adjust sales strategies
  • Coach, develop, and support all Rental Account Managers, Lease Account Managers, and Maintenance Account Managers in the Region
  • Collaborate with operations, fleet management, maintenance, and credit teams
  • Ensure consistent sales processes, CRM usage, and reporting across the region
  • Establish well defined goals and set clear expectations for all Account Managers
  • Participate in recruiting, training, and performance management of sales staff
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reviews to ensure accountability
  • Conduct regular customer reviews to ensure satisfaction and contract compliance and customer retention
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities (maintenance programs, rental to lease, replacement cycles)
  • Meet or exceed revenue, gross profit, and utilization goals
  • Monitor fleet availability and coordinate with operations to support customer needs
  • Review sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and regional performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies
