About The Position

This role requires demonstrated experience selling information security, privacy, data protection, and emerging digital trust solutions, including data and AI governance solutions, to mid‑market and enterprise organizations. Federal (defense) industrial base sales experience is not required, but of interest. The Regional Sales Manager, Digital Trust generates revenue utilizing a consultative selling approach. They will cultivate new business opportunities and develop long-term business partnerships within the clients in the service and manufacturing industries. In addition, the Regional Sales Manager assesses customer needs, creates solutions based on the Business Assurance, Digital Trust solution portfolio, including industry recognized training and certification, NIST, ISO, SOC 2 and other standard assessments and audits, and related information security, privacy, data and AI governance solutions. They will achieve a sales target and increase revenue through selling clients SGS solutions applicable for their businesses, often engaging C‑suite, risk, compliance, security, and technology stakeholders in complex buying cycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales or other client facing problem solving role
  • Experience with ISO standards and other Industry Standards for Privacy, Information Security
  • Demonstrated experience selling information security, data governance, privacy, or digital trust solutions

  • Experience selling into C-Suite stakeholders in finance, information management, communications, managed services, and software industries

  • Background aligned with assurance, audit, or advisory sales environments like e.g., Big 4, Coalfire, Schellman, or A-LIGN is strongly preferred
  • Federal (U.S. Government) sales experience is not required, but experience with federal schemes such as FedRAMP or CMMC is of interest
  • A true sales “hunter” with a “can’t fail” attitude driven to achieve sales goals

  • Technical selling skills and knowledge in industry sectors, e.g. medical, industrial, mobility, required, including the ability to credibly discuss information security, data, AI, and software security topics with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Achieves sales revenue goals in a defined sales territory within target sectors in the North America region, with a strong focus on information security, privacy, data and AI governance assessment solutions
  • Develops and implements agreed upon business/marketing plan which will meet both personal and business goals
  • Mentors sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term overall account goals in line with SGS’ vision and values.
  • Develops a database maintained in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system of qualified leads attained through referrals, face to face meetings, calls, email, and networking, particularly within the information security, risk, compliance, and technology ecosystem.
  • Sells and makes recommendations to prospects and clients on SGS solutions designed to address information security risk management, regulatory compliance, data governance, AI risk and ethics, and software assurance challenges.
  • Generates proposals in compliance with Accreditation Body requirements and/or industry sector requirements, demonstrating an understanding of complex assurance, governance, and certification scopes.
  • Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within the assigned territory and /or industry sector.
  • Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses that identify a prospect’s business challenges and the effects of those challenges, including regulatory, cyber, data, AI, and software risk considerations.
  • Participates in and contributes to the development of educational programs offered to clients, with emphasis on information security, data protection, AI governance, and emerging digital trust topics.
  • Maintains effective working team relationships with all support departments
  • Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans.
  • Includes the appropriate International Sales Manager (ISM) and/or International Account Manager (IAM) on any opportunities that meet the criteria for a Global Key Account
  • Adopts safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures.
  • Complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Mentors junior staff
