We are seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the operational performance of our Midwest offices. This role will be based in Chicago, IL, providing strategic and hands-on support across key areas such as finance, HR, facilities, compliance, and business operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Managing Directors, brokers, and administrative teams to drive efficiency, enhance processes, and support business growth across multiple locations. The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $100,000 to $120,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 4-year college degree in a relevant functional area.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, office management, or business administration, preferably in a multi-location or regional leadership role.
  • Experience managing staff.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM platforms, and operational tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in Commercial Real Estate or Professional Services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all office activities and daily operations to ensure a smooth and efficient work environment across the Midwest region.
  • Work in partnership with the Regional Managing Director, Market Leaders, and corporate leadership to implement operational strategies that support business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance requirements, and industry best practices while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining office budgets, expense tracking, and financial reporting to maintain fiscal responsibility across the region.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline administrative workflows and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Supervise and develop a team of administrative professionals across multiple Midwest locations, providing training, resources, and performance coaching.
  • Serve as the primary contact for recruiting, onboarding, attendance tracking, performance management, and personnel issues, in collaboration with the corporate HR team.
  • Work with Managing Directors to foster a high-performance culture that aligns with company values and business goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Midwest offices and corporate functions (HR, IT, Accounting, Marketing) to ensure seamless operations.
  • S upport the marketing team in servicing Brokers and offices with client events, new client pitches, research, and marketing messaging on the website, twitter feeds, and other mechanisms for promoting the Avison Young brand.
  • Ensure all employees have the necessary technology, workspace, and office infrastructure, including handling office moves, expansions, and vendor negotiations.
  • Manage vendor contracts, lease agreements, and office services, ensuring cost-effective solutions for office needs.
  • Plan and oversee office events, staff appreciation activities, and corporate functions to foster engagement and collaboration.
  • Maintain office records, compliance documentation, and CRM data accuracy to support business operations.
  • Other duties as assigned to support regional business needs.
