About The Position

Join Liberty Mutual as an Equipment Breakdown Risk Engineering Regional Manager, where you’ll lead a high-performing team shaping the future of equipment safety and reliability for our commercial customers. In this role, you’ll guide engineers and inspectors who conduct boiler and pressure vessel inspections, deliver technical account engineering, and perform equipment breakdown risk assessments across your region. You’ll set the strategic direction for the team, ensure technical excellence, and elevate the customer experience through strong partnerships and industry expertise. As a key leader within our Risk Engineering organization, you’ll champion innovation, uphold compliance with NBIC and jurisdictional standards, and drive operational performance that helps protect businesses, communities, and people.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, lead and get work done through others; in depth knowledge of loss prevention products and operations
  • Proven capability to deal with all levels of an organization -- including senior management -- and the capacity to manage the delivery of services to a larger, more complex book of business
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and listening skills in order to develop and maintain relationships with customers
  • Advanced skills in conducting advance level research, evaluation and analysis
  • Maintains expert understanding of risk assessment, risk analysis, solutions management and progress measurement techniques
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with coursework in mathematics and engineering, plus 10+ years of directly related consulting experience
  • NBIC Commission (IS) required
  • Travel may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree or designation(s) in related field preferred
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and other designations such as CSP or CPCU may be required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers performing inspections and risk assessments.
  • Review and approve technical reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Coach staff, manage workloads, uphold deadlines, and ensure adherence to codes and standards.
  • Address complex customer issues and support key accounts.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Champion new tools, technologies, and process enhancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and internal partners; support proposals and new business efforts.
  • Provide guidance on reducing equipment-related risks and meeting compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all work meets NBIC and jurisdictional regulations; stay current on industry standards.
  • Lead or assist with major equipment failure investigations.
  • Train staff on inspection methods, communication, and customer service; develop skill-building plans.
  • Promote a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
