Job Title: Regional Maintenance Trainer III Department: Facilities Supervisor Title: Regional Maintenance Training Supervisor JOB SUMMARY: The HVAC/R Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs for field technicians, ensuring competency in commercial HVAC/R systems, refrigeration technologies, and compliance standards. This role supports technician development, operational consistency, and safety across the organization.
Requirements
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
- Minimum 6 years of commercial HVAC/R experience
- Strong background in retail / convenience store refrigeration systems
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and evaluate technicians
- Refrigerants & Systems R-448A R-290 (propane systems) R-404A R-22 / legacy systems
- Equipment & Platforms Carrier commercial HVAC/R systems Tutin Labs systems and diagnostics ALS (Advanced Leak Systems / monitoring systems)
- Applications Commercial refrigeration systems Rack systems and walk-in coolers/freezers Retail / C-store refrigeration environments
Nice To Haves
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical training
- Experience with technician scheduling and field operations
- Leadership or prior training experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver structured training programs for new hires and existing technicians
- Conduct ride-alongs, field coaching, and hands-on training sessions
- Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, and technical guides
- Ensure compliance with EPA, safety, and company standards
- Evaluate technician performance and identify skill gaps
- Provide ongoing support for troubleshooting and advanced diagnostics
- Stay current with emerging HVAC/R technologies and refrigerant regulations
