Job Title: Regional Maintenance Trainer III Department: Facilities Supervisor Title: Regional Maintenance Training Supervisor JOB SUMMARY: The HVAC/R Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs for field technicians, ensuring competency in commercial HVAC/R systems, refrigeration technologies, and compliance standards. This role supports technician development, operational consistency, and safety across the organization.

Requirements

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
  • Minimum 6 years of commercial HVAC/R experience
  • Strong background in retail / convenience store refrigeration systems
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and evaluate technicians
  • Refrigerants & Systems R-448A R-290 (propane systems) R-404A R-22 / legacy systems
  • Equipment & Platforms Carrier commercial HVAC/R systems Tutin Labs systems and diagnostics ALS (Advanced Leak Systems / monitoring systems)
  • Applications Commercial refrigeration systems Rack systems and walk-in coolers/freezers Retail / C-store refrigeration environments

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical training
  • Experience with technician scheduling and field operations
  • Leadership or prior training experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured training programs for new hires and existing technicians
  • Conduct ride-alongs, field coaching, and hands-on training sessions
  • Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, and technical guides
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, safety, and company standards
  • Evaluate technician performance and identify skill gaps
  • Provide ongoing support for troubleshooting and advanced diagnostics
  • Stay current with emerging HVAC/R technologies and refrigerant regulations
