The West Division (CA, WA, CO, UT) is seeking a senior-level Human Resources leader to serve as a strategic partner to field HR and operational leadership across multiple locations. This highly visible role drives human capital strategy, ensures regulatory compliance, strengthens employee relations, and supports operational performance in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 3 years supporting multi-location or regional operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (California in particular)
  • Demonstrated success handling complex employee relations matters in a distributed workforce.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with operational leadership.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50–75% (multi-state travel required).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior HR advisor to divisional leadership and field management teams.
  • Align HR strategies with business objectives across multiple service centers.
  • Drive consistency in policies, procedures, and people practices throughout the division.
  • Provide consultative guidance on workforce planning, organizational development, and performance management.
  • Maintain regular on-site presence and daily interaction to support operational leaders.
  • Lead complex employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate, legally sound actions.
  • Review and approve termination recommendations to ensure compliance with progressive discipline standards.
  • Coach leaders on documentation, performance counseling, corrective action, and complaint resolution.
  • Review employee appeals and manage unemployment risk mitigation efforts.
  • Promote a positive employer-employee relationship while protecting the company from legal exposure.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee and review government reporting requirements including EEO, ERISA, Wage & Hour, and Affirmative Action Plan compliance.
  • Identify legal risks and partner with internal counsel and external agencies as needed.
  • Conduct audits of HR processes and employee files to ensure regulatory adherence and operational consistency.
  • Deliver and coordinate training in areas such as harassment prevention, performance management, interviewing skills, pay practices, and company policies.
  • Support managers with coaching and development strategies to improve retention and engagement.
  • Analyze turnover, compensation, and workforce data to provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Develop and implement retention, reward, and engagement initiatives across the division.
  • Support benefit and payroll issue resolution; may oversee payroll processes.
  • Serve as a key liaison between management and employees to resolve workplace concerns.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while responding to information requests.
  • Ensure seamless HR operational execution across all supported locations.
