About The Position

We rely on and trust our Regional Director of Clinical Quality to focus on documentation compliance related to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations. This role ensures that clinical documentation meets regulatory standards, supporting facility staff and interdisciplinary teams in maintaining compliance and enhancing

Requirements

  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted LPN license that allows practice in Indiana.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on long-term care.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of CMS and state guidelines, including MDS assessments and long-term care documentation standards.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in EHR and documentation systems and Microsoft tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively provide feedback and training.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in clinical documentation, compliance, or quality assurance preferred.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on current CMS guidelines and ensure all documentation aligns with regulatory changes.
  • Participate in remote duties for Critical Element Pathways compliance completion, mock survey process, ad hoc QAPI,
  • Documentation Review and Auditing: Evaluate clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with CMS regulations and organizational policies.
  • Identify gaps or discrepancies in records and provide actionable feedback to staff.
  • Plan of Corrections Assist in implementing policies and procedures to meet compliance requirements.
  • Support for Long-Term Care Facilities: Collaborate with center focused team members (RDCO, RDCQ, DCE, etc.) to provide guidance and training to nursing staff on proper documentation techniques and compliance best practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address documentation issues impacting compliance.
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR) Management: Maintain and monitor EHR systems for EHR utilization, consistent, compliant record-keeping.
  • Work with clinical informatics and administrative teams to optimize EHR templates and workflows for compliance.
  • Lead Additional Documentation Request process and audit for opportunities per process workflows, collaborate with RDCQ team to provide in center education when needed.
  • Quality Assurance and Reporting: Participate in quality assurance activities, including data collection and reporting to meet performance benchmarks.
  • Understand and educate the facility and regional teams on both state and federal quality programs.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to leadership and regulatory bodies as required.
