Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Regional Demand Planning Specialist. The Regional Demand Planning specialist will be the technical and strategic point of accountability for materials demand planning in the North America (NA) region, being a strategic partner for internal stakeholders as Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Asset Management, Finance areas and with strategic suppliers, to drive operational improvements in integrated demand planning, forecasting, inventory optimization, and internal services withing the Supply chain departments in the region. The role will promote necessary changes across the region, adding value and driving best practices by providing support to achieve the operational targets, equipment availability and to increase reliability of the fleets in the region, leading the process of materials demand planning, participate in the design of strategies to optimize inventory, and ensure the supply of parts. Requirements

  • Professional in Industrial engineering, Business Administration, Logistics or related required
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain areas, Inventory Control and/or Demand planning preferred
  • Robust knowledge and experience in demand planning, inventory optimization, forecasting and supplier management. Procurement, warehousing, logistics and contracting foundations preferred
  • Functional knowledge of SAP (MM, MRP management, PM preferred
  • Strong computer (Excel, Power Point, word), and written and verbal communication skills preferred
  • Must be able to work at an industrial mine site (including wearing of personal protective equipment, climbing stairs, standing for long periods, working in tight quarters, etc.) required
  • Able to make fast decisions related to the processes and projects under her/his responsibilities preferred
  • Fluent in English. Fluent Spanish proficiency is a plus required
  • Independent, results driven and proactive required
  • Problem solving oriented and have analytical skills.= required
  • Capable of positive influence and lead teams not in their direct report required
  • Capable of working and collaborating with cross functional teams required

Nice To Haves

  • Supply Chain Management diploma or certification: APICS (CSCP, CPIM) preferred
  • Knowledge of Asset management or equipment reliability foundations preferred
  • Strong preference for candidates with background experience in mining industry and processing plants preferred
  • Other tools considered but not required: Power BI or similar dashboard and reporting tools, demand planning and inventory optimization preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition and execution of the demand planning strategy for critical consumables and materials in NA region.
  • Identify current gaps in integrated demand planning between Barrick stakeholders (Maintenance, Operations and Supply Chain departments) and key suppliers and contractors
  • Evaluate current forecasting processes and implement improvements to increase accuracy and reliability
  • Drive collaboration between the operational areas and Supply Chain as well as to ensure alignment between the inventory plans and Maintenance plans (corrective, preventive, strategic) in matter of materials demand planning.
  • Drive improvements that will be measurable and reflected in critical KPI’s, amongst them: work order fill rate, fleet availability, forecast accuracy, on-hand inventory optimization, inventory health, lead time reduction, supplier fill rate, stock-outs, cost savings.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management areas to ensure asset and material criticality, maintenance strategies and asset replacement, are correctly identified and considered in the Supply Chain plans.
  • Support Inventory and procurement areas in the Identification and mitigation plans for supply risks associated to critical materials and operational supplies.
  • Drive improvement in demand planning processes, stocking and logistics strategies of critical materials and operational supplies with the Inventory and procurement areas from the sites.
  • Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to reduce lead times, reduce variability of supply and demand and improve service levels.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices on inventory optimization and demand planning across the region in collaboration with Supply Change management and excellence role.
  • Take part in supplier relationship management, including but not limited to, tracking supplier performance metrics, supplier safety reporting, stakeholder satisfaction metrics, etc.
  • Ensure alignment and adherence with Barrick’s Inventory management, supply chain and accounting standards and internal procedures, and developing KPIs and/or reports to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrate awareness, commitment and compliance with Barrick Safety policies and Social Responsibility policies.
